Petersburg Generals Baseball Academy Wins First Tournament

13U Junior Generals Win USSSA Tournament

Petersburg, VA – The Petersburg Generals Baseball Academy (PGBA) and its 13U travel team recently won the first tourney in the programs history.

The USSSA sanctioned tournament, held at the Petersburg Sports Complex, featured six (6) 13U teams. The 13U Junior Generals stormed through the field undefeated (4-0) and racked up close to 40 runs scored. The Generals overcame a 7-1 deficit in the semi-finals to advance to the championship game, which the 13U won by a score of 6-3.

At this time, the PGBA is looking to form a younger travel team. Our teams practice all year with two practices a week generally lasting two hours. All practices are held on the Petersburg Sports Complex stadium field or inside our Academy located adjacent to the field.

The Petersburg Generals Baseball Academy was established in the fall of 2005 and its main focus is to enhance the level of baseball in the area. The PGBA offers private or team instruction for baseball or softball, cage rentals, camps/clinics and our Junior Generals travel team.
