Bio:
Larry
Toombs begins another season serving as President of the Petersburg
Generals and seventh overall via coach or executive. This season
also marks the 52nd year in sports as a player, coach or administrator.
A native of the Petersburg area, Larry captained the Petersburg
Crimson Wave while attending Petersburg High School and went on
to play college baseball and football at the University of Richmond.
Larry would later go on to travel the United States and Canada playing
Professional Fast-Pitch Softball. After 20 plus years of Professional
Sports and several National and All-World accolades, Petersburg
has welcomed Larry back and embraces his experience and leadership
to guide the Generals operation.
Larry
has a B.S. in Recreation Administration, Masters in Sports Management,
PH.D Counseling Organiztional Management. He has three sons, Justin,
Jeremy and Jordan and wife of 33 years, Kay – who volunteers
countless hours at the Sports Complex each year.

Jeremy

Bio:
Jeremy Toombs begins his
9th year with the Petersburg Generals operation. Jeremy has served
as Assistant General Manager and General Manager and has witnessed
unbelievable growth in his tenure. Aside from the Generals, Jeremy
also serves as the Vice-president/Recruiting Coordinator of the
East Coast Bowl All-star Football game. Jeremy graduated from Prince
George High School in 1998. Prior to transferring to Prince George,
Jeremy attended Goldsboro High School, Goldsboro, NC. During his
high school career Jeremy amassed 11 varsity letters in Football,
Baseball, Track & Field, Swimming, and Golf. Jeremy was a 4-year
starter in football at Greensboro College and Randolph-Macon College
as an offensive lineman. Jeremy was selected to play in the 1st
Annual (2001) East Coast Bowl Game, a Division II and III College
All-Star Football Game. Jeremy resides in Petersburg an has been
married for almost 3 years to his wife Sarah, who is a special education
teacher in Prince George.

Jordan
Toombs

Bio:
Jordan
has been a fixture at the Complex in one capacity or another since
1999. Jordan began working as a volunteer for several years and
has held numerous responsibilities as clubhouse manager, field maintenance,
PA Announcer, ticket attendant, etc. During the 2007 season Jordan
will serve as the team’s strength and conditioning coach.
He will be responsible for pre-game warm-ups, in-season lifting
and conditioning program. Jordan is a 2003 graduate of Prince George
and after graduation he went to prep school at Camden Military Academy
for a year. He attended East Stroudsburg University (PA) where he
was part of a nationally ranked program. Jordan transferred to Chowan
University (NC) and has been a 2-year starter on the Hawks offensive
line. Jordan is majoring in Exercise Studies.

Justin
Tatro

Bio:
Justin
Tatro enters his 2nd year with the Generals and 3rd year in the
organization. He has gained valuable experience with both the Petersburg
Generals and the East Coast Bowl programs. He assists the General
Managers with any and all tasks and he understands what it takes
to make the Sports Complex operate. Justin is a graduate of Virginia
Commonwealth University and as a pitcher for the VCU Ram baseball
team he helped guide the Rams to a regional win over defending National
Champion LSU in the 2001 Baton Rouge Regional. Justin has also focused
heavily on the proper installation of the Petersburg Generals Baseball
Academy (PGBA), which opened in the fall of 2005. He has been giving
individual instruction to players of all ages since the PGBA opened
its doors and he has been a big reason for its success.

Ashley

Bio:
Ashley Saunders
begins her 1st year in the front office in the organization. Ashley
serves as the Media Relations and Marketing Coordinator for the
Generals. Ashley graduated from Manchester High School in 2001 where
she lettered in tennis and track and field. Her tennis ability led
her to VSU on scholarship to play for the Trojans. Ashley played
all four years and three separate years saw the Trojans make it
to the finals (CIAA). She received a Bachelors in Health and Physical
Education, and a Masters in Sport Management..
