The Petersburg Generals Baseball Academy has been developed to promote the baseball skills for youth’s ages 7-18. These skills consist of hitting, pitching, catching, outfield and infield defense and overall knowledge of the game. Instructors in the Academy will be former college athletes and or coaches including instructors with professional baseball backgrounds along with former four-year VCU starter Chris Gerrity and Petersburg Generals President and Hitting Consultant Larry Toombs.

Padres Major League Pitcher, Cla Meredith nwill be helping out with all the camps this year, as will a pair of local Pro Baseball players and 2 high school coaches who will be teaching lessons at the Sports Complex this year! Boston Red Sox Pitchers, Cla Merridith and Brian Marshall who were both standout pitchers for Virginia Commonwealth University and Shawn Wynn and Mike Teasley, from Dinwiddie and Petersburg High Schools will also be teaching lessons along with the Generals Staff this year. Generals staff consist of former baseball and softball player Larry Toombs along with former VCU players, Chris Gerrity and Justin Tatro.

The Academy will be divided into five different age groups:
7-9 Years of Age
10-12 Years of Age
13-15 Years of Age
15-18 Years of Age



MEMBERSHIP:

1 year Academy membership is $75. The Academy will be opened year round. Participants can join at any time. Scholarships are available based on need. The Academy will teach all aspects of the game including rules of the game, proper conduct and attitude, uniform appearance, as well as overall skills and techniques.
Individual instructional sessions will be a minimum of one half hour. Note: Boy’s ages 7-9 will be a maximum of one hour in length.

LESSON PRICES

Member half hour session: $25
Non-member half hour session: $30
Member one hour session: $45
Non-member one hour session: $50
1 hour 2 players (member:$65/nonmember:$75)
1 hour 3 players (member:$75/nonmember:$85)
Two hour session: $TBA
Team Fee: $TBA
Cage Rental: 30min=$15, 60min=$30, Team=$45


Policies
Please make note of PGBA’s Policies:
1. No Cash refunds
2. Lesson "No Shows" full charge for lessons.
3. Full Day Notice of Cancellation - There is no charge and lesson will be rescheduled.
4. All program misses can be made up if advance notice is given. If space is available.

BECOME A MEMBER
PGBA Memberships are $75 a year for one child or $100 a year for a family.
Memberships save you 10% off the regular Academy prices, including camps and private lessons. Each Member will also receive a Season Ticket for the Generals 2006 season.
Memberships run from September through September

Possible teams may be developed by the Academy---“Junior Generals” program. Fees for team(s) participation will be announced upon forming.
Facilities and Souvenirs: The PGBA and the Sports Complex offers fields (College field,3 High School Fields, 4 little league fields, batting cages (covered soon), souvenirs, guest speakers, videotape sessions (note: older participants can have videos made for college and or professional scouts), free passes to Generals games, discounts on Academy merchandise, camps and clinics.


*PRIVATE LESSONS ARE AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We are now taking reservations for private lesson time slots for the spring and summer.
AVAILABILITY OF LESSON TIMES MAY VARY JUNE - AUGUST:
During the Generals Season times may vary depending on Generals Schedule. Generals players will serve as coaches during the summer!
