Two Quincy Hawks Follow Former Teammates

Petersburg, VA – The Petersburg Generals have announced that two Quincy University Hawks will be a part of the Generals pitching staff in 2008.

Bryce Crowley and Tyler Martin will be following the footsteps of their teammates Chris Scoggins and Max McCorvie, who were major contributions to the 2007 Generals roster.

Crowley, 6’0 165, is a junior right-handed pitcher from Newberg, MO.  In the spring season of 2006, Crowley made five appearances with one start with one win and finished with a 1.93 ERA while striking out 10 in 14 innings.  In 2007, the RHP finished the season 4-1 with a 3.06 ERA while making 10 appearances with 40 strikeouts.  Crowley was also named to the All-Conference Academic team.

Martin, 6’1 210, is a junior right-handed pitcher from St. Charles, MO.  Martin is a transfer from St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley in which he played for two seasons.  During his sophomore season, Martin finished the season with a 4-4 win-loss record with a 3.20 ERA.

Crowley and Martin will both play big rolls on the mound for the Quincy Hawks and the Generals in 2008.  “We have heard nothing but good things about these two pitchers and are looking forward to having them on our pitching staff.  Both will see a good amount of innings for the Generals in the upcoming season” Assistant Coach Ryan Leary.
