Generals Announce Extra Firework Show

Petersburg, VA – The Petersburg Generals will have Military Appreciation Night this Saturday, July 28th and have now added a firework show to follow.

The Generals will welcome any past or present member of the US Armed Forces to the Petersburg Sports Complex free of charge for Saturday’s game against Wilson. The game will begin at 7:05 PM with gates opening at 6 PM and immediately following the conclusion of the game, Dominion Fireworks of Petersburg, VA, will have a post-game fireworks display.

The Generals are rounding out their 2007 home schedule and still have two (2) games left with post-game fireworks (July 28, August 8), a hot dog eating contest (July 27), little league Tuesday (July 31) and MULLET MONDAY (August 6). All games start at 7:05 PM!!

The Petersburg Generals are a member of the Coastal Plain League (CPL), the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Entering its 11th season, the CPL is the largest summer league in the country, featuring 15 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL is certified by Major League Baseball and gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts.
